Welcome, 2014!

Hello, dearest friends!

Well, 2014 is here, and so far it is a year filled with dreams come true.  It is the year of my wedding, and it is the year of a new parade in Magic Kingdom, the first in 12 years.

January 4th, I closed out the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade at Magic Kingdom, and it was a momentous occasion.  I have been a part of that parade since 2007, when it was the Disney's Dreams Come True Parade, and I felt honored to be in the closing cast.  What touched and humbled me was all of the cast and guests who were lining the parade route with hand-made sign that said "Thanks for celebrating with us," and other such kind words.  I don't generally cry, but I have to be honest, by the time we came down Main Street and circled Town Square, the tears were in my eyes as the Entertainment family all seemed to be out there, some I hadn't seen in month, all clapping, cheering, and calling out to us.  Moments like these are what I live for, to realize that God is indeed using me to shine for Him, and if any were to see my good works, they would praise my Father in Heaven. :)

I just returned today from my first rehearsal to learn the new parade as well!  It is the Festival of Fantasy Parade, and all the floats, costumes, and music are tailored for Magic Kingdom!  I am extremely blessed to be learning how to help Minnie in this new parade, as the opening cast.  I can't wait for you all to see it, or, if you are unable to fly down to Florida any time soon, to see it on youtube after it debuts on March 9th! :)

Work stuff aside, I'm Getting Married This Year!!!! :D :D :D

In just over three months, I will be married to the love of my life, and I could not be happier. :)  We have had about three months to prep so far, and I am happy to report that my life is pretty stress-free.  Knowing I only had six months total to plan, I have been steadily working away at my planning guide, and I'm actually at a good place right now.  All of the bridesmaids have ordered their dresses and shoes, we have had our cake tasting and food tasting, booked the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, tweaked the wedding party a bit, and ordered invitations and RSVPs.  Woot!

As of right now, we are working on the music selections for the ceremony (we decided on a brass duet/trio/quintet, depending on who all can come for the ceremony, and our friend is a professional DJ at Disney and agreed to do our wedding!)  Also, we are figuring out what readings we would like and are about to order wedding favors.  After that, we order the programs and the wedding bands, and the month after that, we start getting into more details.  So many layers of fun! :)

If you are reading this and did not get a save the date, I apologize for not being able to invite everyone, as money is not in an overabundance.  I truly do value your friendship!  For those who did get a save the date, I sincerely hope you can come, and I can't wait to see you in May!  For those interested in Idaho, I do plan on having an Idaho reception on July 11th, the day after my niece's one year birthday. :)

Please let me know how you are doing, and what you hope 2014 will mean to you.  Sometimes I wonder who all actually reads this blog. ;)  I look forward to hearing from you!

Love you!
Megan
