Hello, dear friends!
My goodness, my wonderful mom mentioned that she had missed my usual posting on the last day of last month telling of all the amazing happenings during the month of July. Truth be told, I was just so busy, it had completely escaped my mind! A big shoutout to my mom for reminding me! :)
July has indeed been full of amazing happenings. The best was my vacation with Joe when he and I visited Idaho to spend time with family and friends. During our week stay, we visited the zoo, picnicked at Julia Davis Park, nerded out at the Library!, went to my alma mater, Northwest Nazarene University, and enjoyed the sundry vehicles at the local car show. Altogether relaxing and fun!
One of the two main reasons for going to Idaho, however, was my niece's one year birthday! I am so blessed to be Elissa's aunt, and she even got from her aunt the Duplo set of Cinderella's Castle for her Lego themed birthday party. :D Her mom, Jenn, hosted a fantastic party! :) A few days later, we celebrated the other main reason for our time in Idaho. Our friends the Hintzes went above and beyond in their generosity by hosting our Idaho wedding reception for close family and friends who were unable to attend our wedding in Florida. The day was perfect, the turnout was excellent, and it was a blessed time with some of my favorite people! :)
Back home, work picked up as usual in this busy summer season. I survived 67 hours last week, but I only have 50 hours this week, so I may not know what to do with my time! :P Happily, I am working on a Star Wars quilt for Joe and me, and I'm also slowly scrapbooking my wedding, so I know I won't have time to be bored with my extra time. :P
In other news, Joe and I have actually been asked to join a new middle school ministry at our church, God's House Orlando! It is a small, nondenominational church, and there are enough graduating 5th graders to justify creating a special middle school ministry for them instead of asking them to immediately join the high school group. Only four couples were invited to teach, and we will each teach in 6 week increments. Joe is a natural with middle school children, and it is a joy to watch him teach and inspire them. :)
Speaking of which, praise God that Joe has been offered a new job, as a shop teacher at his old middle school! :D He has been working at his computer consultant company for almost a year now, but he has been unhappy for almost the entire year, as he believed he was getting hired to do IT work instead. He loves hands-on, interactive work, ideally with kids. This new job will be perfect for him! :D He just needs to hear back from the school after they've reviewed his transcripts. Yay!! :D
Well, I should be letting you go. Today is actually our three month anniversary! :D Life has been continuously amazing, being married to the love of my life, Joe Gravelle! :D
With all my love,
Megan Gravelle
