Dream Big

Happy Easter and springtime, my friends!

Spring is my favorite season, mostly because it is such a perfect symbolism of hope, renewal, and a chance to dream. Granted, I dream during all four seasons, but for some reason, Spring just seems to dare dreamers to dream even bigger.

Perhaps I dream big because I work at a place where daily I sing "Any dream is possible/ Wishes do come true" and "Celebrate a dream come true/ And you might just find a wish for you/ If you close your eyes, and you realize/ Any dream is possible." Perhaps it is because I have had so many dreams come true in my own life. Perhaps it is because I worship a God Who is the biggest Dreamer of all. :)

With this said, I truly do not understand people who, upon asking how they want to live their life to the fullest, respond with, "I can't afford it." !!! Dreaming big, living life to the full, and being happy are all choices that are made regardless of how much is in one's bank account. Why somebody would choose to focus on lack of funding rather than choosing to live zealously with what they already have.. I do not understand. I have discovered that most miserable people do not like being reminded that happiness is a choice, because that would make them responsible rather than the hard times that they are facing. Everybody goes through difficult circumstances; it is up to you in how you deal with it. You do not even have to be happy about it, as long as you choose to look at the positive in the circumstance, even if it is the fact that "this too, shall pass."

Some would argue, "But I'm trying to be positive!" The wise words of Yoda come to my mind then: "Do or do not; there is no try." Some people seem content thinking that "someday" they'll be able to pursue their dreams, once they've made their first million, or once they get their dream job, or once they've established a family. They don't realize that pursuing their dreams starts today. The idea is not to someday get there, but to be there already. If you are not satisfied with what you have, what makes you think that you'll be satisfied with more?

I wonder what the world would be like if people would just believe in themselves and pursue their dreams with passion? Why do so many give it to the fear of failure? Why do so many sell themselves short or assume that they "can't afford" to live their dreams? What will it take for them to begin to live the life that God has created for them? We were not created for mediocrity! We were created for adventure and abundant living!

Awhile back, I was chatting with Abba, and I saw in my hands a blueprint of all that I dreamed for my life, all my hopes and ambitions and how I wanted to glorify Christ's name here on earth. Then I felt Abba behind me, and I heard Him chuckle. He asked, "Are these the blueprints for your life?" I said, "Yes, Abba, aren't they big dreams?" He responded, "My child, they are cute. My blueprints for your life are much, much bigger!"

Praise be to God, the great Dream-Giver and Dream-Fulfiller! May you all dream big and live life to the fullest, starting today. I love you with my life!
