Hello, my wonderful friends, once again!
It is such a small and simple joy to be able to sit down and write out my thoughts in my blog. As the title suggests, life has been full of joys and happiness, with the necessary craziness that goes with the fullness. Within the past month, I have housesat for a week, had three groups of friends come visit, begun Star Wars Weekends, and been through parade rehearsals for Magic Kingdom. Whew!
Each fun moment has its place, and I savor each memory as it comes and goes. Each friend that comes to visit from back home enriches my life and helps me realize even deeper the interconnected feeling that no matter where we are geographically, friendship forms in the heart, where distance cannot separate.
Star Wars Weekends has created a slew of memories, both lovely and humorous. I am helping a Jawa again this year, which means I also help a Jawa become a ganster rapper for the Hyper Space Hoopla Show at the end of the day. Being as there is not a gangster bone in my body, you can imagine the hilarity that ensues! :D I've also had the distinct privelege to share a breakroom with renowned actor Jay Laga'aia, the host for this year's Star Wars Weekends. You can be sure that if he is in the room, there will be laughter and smiles.
Since I consider Magic Kingdom "home" amidst all the parks (Studios is my "vacation home"), I was thrilled to learn that I would be learning the day parade at Magic Kingdom, called Celebrate a Dream Come True. I am learning how to help Mickey and Minnie on the route, which is truly a dream come true. The next best thing to learning this parade is that I get to learn it alongside truly magnificent character performers, one of which has been Mickey Mouse's friend for 19 years. In my training and in my friendships, I truly am blessed. :D
Life still has more joys in store for me. My mom is coming to visit this coming week, and for the first time in years, we will be able to celebrate her birthday together. Star Wars Weekends does not end until mid-June, so I will have my weekends happily filled until then. More trainings are scheduled for June, and, as the perpetual dreamer and optimist, I am hoping to learn everything. :D I am scheduled to go home for a couple weeks in July for some much needed vacation time, and after that, well, maybe things will slow down a bit. Or, as my friend said as soon as I had uttered that maybe, that's when rehearsals for Halloween begin. Ah well, such is life. I would not have it any other way.
Whether your life is crazy or going at a slow pace now, I sincerely hope and pray that yours is filled with as much joy and love as mine is. :D
