March!

Hello, dear friends!

I hope this blog post finds you all well and happy.  It seems to have been a quiet month for me, although when I went back through my planner and journal, I realized that quite a bit has happened!

First, Joe began his new job at Starwood Vacation Homes as a Desktop Admin in the IT department.  He could not be happier!  When he quit his middle school teaching position, he found out that he was one of four teachers to quit that month alone.  Needless to say, he is in a much better place, and we praise God for His answer to our prayer!

We have also adopted a new pet from the animal shelter, a five year old Maine Coon named Mogwai. He is 16 pounds of love, and the moment you pet him is the same moment he starts purring, and he continues to purr long after you've stopped petting him. :)  He likes to keep my feet warm at night, and I fall asleep to his purrs and am content.

Also in exciting news, Joe and I are officially booked for our anniversary trip to Japan this summer! :D  We will be gone the end of June through the beginning of July, and we have our flights and hotels fully booked!  I cannot wait!!!  Places of interest we will see are Hiroshima, Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo Disneysea, Kyoto, Tokyo, Hakone, Akihabara and Harajuku. :D

Work-wise, Disney has for once over hired their character performers, so I am now at a steady 45 hour work week.  It is nice for a change, to see so much of Joe, but it seems strange.. No sixth day?  No double shifts?  Is this how normal people live?  Lol.

In exciting, work-related news, I got the call just two days ago that I have been selected once again to help the Jawas in Star Wars Weekends!  It will be my eighth year with the event, and it will be the five year anniversary of when I met Joe at Star Wars Weekends. :)  Time sure does fly, and I am beyond thrilled to be a part of such an amazing event again this year!

And now is the time where I will close, but first, I would like to share a thought with you... As much fun as I have in sharing with you via my blog all of the fun things and blessings of my life, month after month, I am beginning to wonder who actually reads my blog.  I know my mom does. ;)   I am thinking about discontinuing this blog, and for those who read it regularly, please let me know.. Would you rather I keep my blog?  Or would you rather I email you, or you email me?  Instead of a one-sided monologue, I would like to have a two-sided conversation between friends. :)

I look forward to hearing from you!

Much love,
Megan

Praises in February

Hello, my dear friends!

Life is so good, and I am so grateful that I am able to share it with you!

For once in months and months (and probably years and years) in working for Disney, I am getting consistently only 45 hour weeks, as opposed to 65 hour weeks.  Granted, it is the slow season at Disney before the craziness of Spring Break, but I'll take it!  I've been able to finish long-standing projects like my wedding scrapbook and Star Wars pillowcases, so now I am relaxing and enjoying finding new projects! :)

Being able to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet is praise alone, but there have been praises upon praises this month!

First, some of you may know that my dad has been battling cancer for a little over a decade now, and he also has an inoperable brain tumor.  I have faithfully been praying that the cancer to be eradicated completely from his body and that when next time the doctors scan for his tumor, they are unable to find it.

Well, a couple weeks ago, my dad called me with the good news.  His PSA counts are the lowest they have been in ten years, which basically brings it back to when he was first diagnosed!  This number has been consistent over the past few weeks, which alone is a huge praise.  Not only that though, but the doctors said his tumor was growing so slowly that they only needed to check on it every four months (every two months is normal).  In fact, the doctors were not even sure that it even was a brain tumor; they now believe it is simply decayed brain matter of no consequence! :D  Hallelujah!  Praise God!

God continued to lavish the blessings on my family, because just this past week, Joe got a call from Starwood Vacation Ownership, and he has been hired to be their Desktop Administrator starting March 16th!  This is a fantastic job for Joe, as it allows him to work in IT (thus using his degree) with the possibility of moving up within the company and continuing to help people with any technical difficulties that may arise. :)  God is so good! :D

As an added bonus (have I mentioned how lavish God is with His blessings?), Joe was also able to get a new car to replace his old ones (yes, plural).  He now is driving in style in a green Mercedes-Benz 2006 E320 CDI. :D  I'm so happy for him!

I wonder what good things the Lord has in store for us in March? :D

I pray that as you read this, you are blessed and encouraged.  May God bless you as He has blessed my family!

Blessings upon blessings,
Megan

Cheers to a Happy New Year!

Hello, friends!

2015 is here, with all the promise of a new year, new beginnings, and new adventures!

This year so far has been blissfully serene.  The craziness of holiday hours has gone away, as has the interim period before all the interns get here on the college program to pick up all our overtime shifts.  I am now basking in 40-45 hour  weeks, and I feel like I'm on vacation!  Yet why is my to do list still so long? :P

My mom and "second mom" Anita came down to visit during the middle of this month, and once again, it is always a joy to see my mom.  I truly am proud to call her mother and be her daughter. :)

This month, while it signifies beginnings, also brought on two endings, at least in this world.  Our dear neighbor Rita, who attended our wedding and was a joy to have a few doors down, went to join her husband in Heaven this month.  She was well into her 80s and had been battling with pancreatic cancer for the last few years.  She is cancer free now; praise God that there is no pain or suffering in Heaven!  Also, our cat Elphie passed away; she was around 13, and she appeared to have suffered liver and kidney failure for two days before she, too, went to Heaven to be petting and loved by our Heavenly Father.

As is the way to the circle of life, I remember Rita and Elphie with love, and I look forward to new neighbors and new cats to love as well.

February will be here in just hours, with Valentine's Day around the corner, Joe's birthday at the end of the month, and God only knows what other adventures will be in store.  I'm sure you'll be able to read about them next month!

May 2015 bring you all love, joy, and laughter!

In Him,
Megan
